My BackgroundAndy brings decades of financial and investment industry experience to his position as a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Advisor at BMO Nesbitt Burns. An Honours Bachelor in Commerce from the University of Ottawa, and a Chartered Accountant designation (now C.A. CPA), The Investment Dealers Association of Canada bestowed upon Andy the "B.C. Distinction Award" for his exemplary dedication and professionalism in the investment business and for outstanding commitment to community service. Andy's loyalty and integrity have played an integral role in his growth and success, both personally and professionally. Similar to life in the office, Andy leads a busy life outside of the office spending time with his wife of 30 years, Darcy, and their four sons now in their 20’s (Brendan, Nicholas, Matthew and James). Together, they enjoy traveling, boating and simply relaxing at their cabin on Saltspring Island. Andy enjoys skiing, hiking, playing golf, going to the gym and adventure travel. He has been to 50 different countries and has kayaked in the Arctic Circle and in the Antarctic. As a full service investment firm, BMO Nesbitt Burns enables him to provide value-added benefits through professional investment advice to his high net worth clients. Located directly in the main BMO Tower in the Private Banking/ Nesbitt Burns office , Andy and his team are always available to help clients with advice, questions. and service needs. With his experience and wisdom, Andy provides advice on 'matters of the heart' like transfer of family wealth, proper estate planning, dealing with aging parents and raising children to be responsible with money. His Chartered Accountant background gives him deep knowledge into the analysis and study of the businesses we own, together with a focus on the importance of after-tax rates of returns for our clients.
